Treatment FAQs – Your Questions, Answered
How do I know if I need cataract surgery?
If you experience blurred vision, glare, or difficulty reading, consult our specialists for an evaluation.
Is cataract surgery painful?
No, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia, and patients experience minimal discomfort.
What precautions should I follow after cataract surgery?
After cataract surgery, follow these key guidelines for a smooth recovery:
Apply eye drops as prescribed — one drop at a time with 2–4 minute gaps. Avoid touching the dropper tip.
Keep the eye clean using sterile cotton swabs dipped in boiled water. Do not let water enter the eye.
Avoid rubbing your eye, getting dust or water into it, and do not wash your face for a week.
Limit activities like driving, heavy lifting, or playing with children during the initial recovery phase.
Use protective glasses for all outdoor activities for up to 4 weeks.
Attend all follow-up appointments and continue medications for any existing conditions.
Seek immediate medical attention if you notice increased redness, pain, discharge, or sudden vision loss.
For complete recovery, resume activities gradually based on your doctor’s advice.
How to apply eyedrops after cataract surgery?
To apply eye drops after cataract surgery, follow these steps:
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
Tilt your head back and look upward.
Gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
Hold the dropper above your eye and squeeze out one drop—be careful not to touch your eye or eyelashes with the dropper.
Close your eye gently and press the inner corner of your eye (near the nose) for about 1 minute to prevent the drop from draining.
Wait at least 5 minutes before applying another type of drop if prescribed.
Always follow your doctor’s instructions on dosage and frequency.
Proper application helps reduce the risk of infection and supports faster healing.
